Bible Chapel believes that the Scriptural pattern for spiritual oversight of the local church is through a plurality of elders. Elders, also referred to as bishops, overseers or pastors, are to be appointed based upon the qualifications set forth in Scripture. They are to faithfully guide and rule for the spiritual welfare of the body as a whole, and members individually, by giving themselves to the ministry of God's Word and prayer. They are to be examples to the flock in their life and conduct. ( Acts 6:4; Ephesians 4:11,12; Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:17; I Peter 5:1-3.)
Presently the Bible Chapel has six men serving as elders. Five of these serve as lay-elders and one is a full-time vocational elder.
